When we take our systems too literally there occurs misunderstanding like we see a lot in religion too.
We have to keep our (yoga) practice a personal exploration in finding what’s best for our ourselves.
In our asana practice this means staying curious in finding our body’s natural spirals, layers and waves and taking the time for our bodies to connect to these elements.
Hereby relaxation plays a huge role.
Only when relaxing we can truly observe our body settling in and finding maximum space in our asana.
“Relaxation is not a state of collapse, it’s a state of intense alertness” – Gary Carter
The target of Yoga is ‘svatantra’
which means to discover our own technique.
‘Sva’ means self and ‘Tantra’ means technique.
The techniques are in oneself and we must discover them;
if not we will depend on others.
This is ‘svatantra’.”
